The “Pollux” pencil sharpener from Möbius+Ruppert cuts a needle-fine concave-conical point. It is made of brass and has a replaceable special blade. The sharpener has a pencil hole of ∅ 8.2 mm and is suitable not only for standard pencils but also for coloured pencils. Pencils with standard diameters are guided precisely, preventing the tip from breaking off by tilting the pencil. The chip thickness is very fine (0.26 mm) and the cutting surfaces on wood and lead are very clean. The point angle – as far as measurable with the concave cone – is 18.5° (standard with conventional sharpeners is 22°).
